A dual interface ecosystem for human nutrition.
NutriCare (Siyaphila) — meaning "we are well" in isiZulu — bridges modern AI with traditional, culturally rooted nutrition. It exists because what works for a textbook diet in one country can be harmful, unaffordable, or culturally irrelevant in another.

Founder
Samkelo Rudolf Majola
NutriCare Siyaphila was founded by Samkelo Rudolf Majola after watching family members in his community struggle with chronic conditions — diabetes, hypertension, HIV — while navigating nutrition advice written for diets they couldn't afford and didn't recognise.
He kept seeing the same gap: pharmacies handed out prescriptions, supermarkets sold imported "health" foods, and nobody connected the two. A patient on warfarin had no easy way to know which everyday vegetables could be dangerous. A student on a tight budget had no idea morogo could replace the kale a meal plan demanded.
So he built one. NutriCare exists to put medically safe, culturally honest nutrition into the hands of every patient, student, clinician and shopkeeper — in their language, for their kitchen, on the budget they actually have.

How the platform works
1. Label Recognition AI
Our vision model trained on 50,000+ labels from 80 countries reads nutrition panels in 120+ languages, including regional South African dialects.
2. Prescription Integration
Upload a script or type a medication. We cross-reference 12,000+ documented food-drug interactions from FDA, EMA and SAHPRA databases.
3. Scoring Algorithm
A weighted score combining micronutrient density, glycemic load, cultural relevance, and personal condition risk.
4. Cultural Adaptation Engine
Substitutes imported foods with regionally available, nutritionally equivalent alternatives — morogo for spinach, samp for rice.
5. Real-Time Monitoring
Patients log meals; clinicians monitor adherence and metrics with full consent.
6. Educational Mode
Built for students — explains every recommendation, every interaction, every score.
